Use this guide to add a file to the Content Library, either as a new asset or attached to an existing one.
-
In the left-hand navigation menu, select Content to expand it, then select Content to open the Content Library.
-
Navigate to the folder you want to upload into.
-
Choose one of the following:
-
To create a new asset from the file, drag the file from your computer directly onto the folder's listing. PV4 creates a new asset named after the file and attaches it automatically.
-
To attach the file to an existing, empty asset, select the asset to open it, scroll to the Files section, and either drag the file onto that section, or select its ⋯ menu and choose Upload Files to browse for it instead.
-
Tips:
-
An asset's Media Type (Audio, Font, Graphic, or Video) must be set before a file will attach to it. See Creating a New Asset.
-
Once uploaded, a file's detected attributes (codec, resolution, duration, alpha channel, and so on) appear as badges on its row, and are used to validate it against the folder or asset's Design Parameters.
-
An asset can hold more than one file — for example, an original upload alongside derivatives created by a transcode. See Selecting a File for Manual Transcode.
