This guide explains how to create a Sequence Cue in the PV4 Portal. A Sequence Cue plays multiple cues (Single or Multi) in a predefined order.
1. Creating the Cue
-
Log into the PV4 Portal and navigate to your current Show.
-
Select Cues in the left-hand navigation menu.
-
Navigate to the Cue Type where the Sequence Cue will be created.
-
Click the Create Cue button in the top-right corner of the cue list.
-
Enter the initial cue properties:
-
Name – The name of the sequence.
-
Number – A unique number within the selected Cue Type.
-
2. Set the Cue Mode
-
Set the Mode field to Sequence.
-
The GUI will update to display Sequence‑specific configuration fields.
-
3. Configure Sequence Properties
-
In the End Behaviour field, choose what the Sequence should do once all its items have completed:
-
Black (default) — Clears the entire Sequence when complete.
-
Freeze — Holds on the last cue until cleared manually.
-
Loop — Automatically restarts the Sequence from the beginning once the final cue completes.
-
Useful for rotating content lists or repeating visuals.
-
-
-
(Optional) Add a Label to help operators identify the Sequence in the Controller's Active Cue List.
4. Add Sequence Items
-
In the Sequence Items section, click the "+" button to add a new entry.
-
For each entry added:
-
Select the Cue Type of the cue to include.
-
Enter the Cue Number for that cue.
-
-
The system will automatically detect the referenced cue and display its Name.
-
If a cue does not yet exist:
-
Click the arrow beside the entry to open a slide‑out for creating the new cue.
-
Refer to Creating a New Cue if needed.
-
-
Repeat the steps above until all cues are added to the Sequence.
-
Press Save when the Sequence is complete.
Reordering: You can click and drag cues within the Sequence Items list at any time to reorder how the Sequence plays.
Mixed Cue Types: Sequence Cues can include both Single Cues and Multi Cues. Sequence Cues cannot contain other Sequence Cues.
Cue Clearing: All cues inside a Sequence still adhere to Cue Clearing Rules across surfaces and cue types. If a cue in the Sequence is programmed to clear another cue (even within the same Sequence), it will clear it. Always test Sequence behaviour in a non‑live environment.
