Use this guide to create a new automatic rule.
-
In the left-hand navigation menu, select Transcode, then the Automatic Rules tab.
-
Select New Rule. This opens the Rules Editor panel.
-
Enter a Name and, optionally, a Description.
-
Select + next to Criteria to add a criteria block.
-
Expand the new criteria block, and give it a Name and, optionally, a Description.
-
Under Presets, select the preset(s) this criteria should apply.
-
Under Conditions, select the automatic condition(s) that must pass for those presets to fire.
-
Repeat steps 4–7 to add further criteria blocks, if needed.
-
Optionally, turn off Automatically select transcoded file if you don't want a matching preset's output to become the asset's selected file once the job completes.
-
Select Save.
Tips:
-
A rule can have multiple criteria blocks, each with its own presets and conditions.
-
Once created, assign the rule to a folder — see Assigning Automatic Transcode Rules.
