Scripts in RADAR enable advanced automation and data-driven workflows within PV4 shows. They act as the bridge between integrated data sources and dynamic content rendering, allowing operators to deliver personalized and context-aware experiences.
A single data source often sends several different message types at different times — for example, a live-sports feed might send a schedule message, a live-match update, and a squad list, each arriving separately. A script is built to recognize and process each message type as it arrives, transforming it into a consistent format that's made available to the Orchestrator, which templates and cues can then use for live compositing.
Scripts are currently built by developers rather than configured directly by customers.
Key functions
-
Dynamic Content Control
Use scripts to populate templates with live data, such as scores, rankings, or social feeds. -
Workflow Automation
Trigger cues or sequences based on incoming data conditions, reducing manual intervention during high-pressure live operations. -
Secure Execution
Each script is associated with a unique Script Secret for authentication, ensuring secure and controlled execution. -
Custom Logic
Define conditional behaviors, transformations, and fallback rules to handle unpredictable data scenarios.
Integration points
-
Scripts are attached to a Show from that show's slide-out (not from a global Scripts list — see Shows). This is deliberate: changing a script mid-show carries real risk, so keeping assignment at this less-frequently-touched level helps prevent accidental changes. Some teams build and test a staging script before swapping it in as the live one, rather than editing the live script directly.
-
Works with PLAY for real-time rendering and ENGAGE for interactive experiences.
Use cases
-
Automatically update leaderboard graphics during a race.
-
Trigger sponsor-branded animations when engagement metrics hit a threshold.
-
Display personalized messages based on audience interaction data.
